Easy 4-hour bike ride: our suggestred itinerary

The island’s playground has something for all adventurers heart, and even more to offer if you are an adventurer with a soft spot for locally produced food and beverages. The best way to explore Île d’Orléans is to get the wind in your hair. We’ve made three different articles that suggest itineraries to take during your stay and make sure you see all the island has to offer from the comfort of your bike or scooters seat.

Starting at route Prévost, at Quebec Aventure Tours, glide down the south shores overlooking the river and make your way to the village of Saint-Laurent. Stop and try the best strawberries in the world at one of the cabins on the side of Chemin Royal, take a stop by the Parc Maritime and step back in time to when the island was filled with the shipping industry. Keep going until you reach Saint-Jean and take a couple of pit stops, at the beach, at the unforgettable Vinaigrerie du Capitaine and grab a pastry or baguette at La Boulange.

Route du Mitan

On the way out of the village take a left up route du Mitan and see the beautiful agricultural fields of the island, cycle up to the top of a mild hill and get the breathtaking view of the mountains on the other side of the river at the top. Stop by some traditional sugar shacks and see the maple being funneled from the trees or take a picture with some of the regions famous apple trees. Fresh air, great views, and awesome tastes are on your 4-hour tour.

Onwards and upwards to Sainte-Famille and Saint-Pierre where you are in the land of cider and apples. Need a sugar hit to complete the journey? Stop in to refresh and enjoy the north sides view over the Quebecois countryside.
