What to bring

Please wear comfortable shoes and seasonal clothing. Please note that it is generally cooler on the island due to the sea wind.

Which places are we going to visit?

Ferme François Gosselin is a leading producer of berries, including incomparable strawberries, raspberries and blackberries. You’ll taste strawberries while discovering the realities of a medium-sized family farm, as well as the contribution of the Hispanic workforce present for 14 years.

Ferme la Bunker / Alain Plante is also a 5th-generation family farm producing a wide variety of squash, pumpkins, maple products, corn, beets and more. The site is also home to a Cold War anti-nuclear bunker built in 1964. In the midst of a generational transition, several innovations are underway.

We’ll end the tour at the island’s highest point: the terrace of the Motel Île d’Orléans – where you’ll sample even more of this amazing island’s unique products, including black garlic, blackcurrant jam, 2 cheeses, wine and beer, all with a panoramic view of Quebec City and the St. Lawrence River. All the while discussing the history of the island and the region.
