The best way to explore Ile d’Orléans is to get the wind in your hair. We’ve made three different routes for you to break up during your stay and make sure you see all the island has to offer from the comfort of your bike or scooters seat.
Our 6-hour tour takes you all along the perimeters of the island, trailing the St. Lawrence River. If you want to do a full route – full speed ahead then we would estimate around 6 to 8 hours, however, if you plan a few longer stops along the way then we’d suggest keeping busy from sunrise to sunset – as you just won’t want to go back home.
This route, which comes in at just under 70 km, will bring you along the highlights of each village and connect you to all the greatest lookout points and unmissable views overlooking Quebec City, St. Lawrence River and, of course, the beautiful Île d’Orléans. From Rue Horacio Walker in Saint-Pétronille overlooking Quebec City up to the observation tower in Saint-Francois where you get a 360 degree view over all of the above – both sides offer a postcard moments and are must dos on your visit. Hence why, if you want to be enjoy the true joys the island has to offer then you will need to go from tip to tip.
The south and north shores of the island bring you on a dynamic journey up and down and around. Surrounded by a variety of trees, fields with the sweetest fruits and villages with all the colours of the rainbow you will be shuttled back and forward their between modern and ancient times.
